Patriot Bass Fishing Tournament

It was a great day of family fun this past Saturday at The Bridges at Preston Crossings. More than 200 people attended our first annual Patriot Bass Fishing Tournament emceed by pro-angler Jimmy Houston to show their support for military servicemen and women. All of the proceeds from the tournament benefitted Operation FINALLY HOME, an organization which is currently building three homes for wounded war heroes at the Bridges.

A total of 335 fish were caught during the tournament with one little boy catching a whopping 31 fish! No one was able to reel in our prized Patriot Bass worth $1,500, but everyone enjoyed a great day at the beautiful Bridges’ Double M Lake.

The Bridges Hosts Charity Golf Tournament

This past Friday, the Bridges Golf Club played host to the Patriot Cup Golf Tournament benefitting Operation FINALLY HOME. Twenty five teams of participants and sponsors spent the day golfing on the charming, 18-hole Fred Couples Signature Golf Course. Guests enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day in Gunter with lunch on the veranda at Moms on the Green. Followed by a fun and lively raffle featuring items such as Titelist and Nike irons, a TV and rounds of golf at the Bridges Golf Club, it was a great day had by all to benefit a great cause!

All of the proceeds from this event benefit the Operation FINALLY HOME families whose homes are currently being built at The Bridges at Preston Crossings. The families to be honored include war heroes Sergeant First Class Alan Hornaday and his wife, Sheila, of Fordyce, Arkansas, Sergeant Levi Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Katie, of McKinney, Texas, as well as Army Specialist Hugo L. Gonzalez, his wife, Any, and three young daughters, of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Bluegreen Communities will continue this initiative throughout 2011 when two more veterans and their families will also be honored with lots and new homes at The Bridges.

The Bridges at Preston Crossings Breaks Ground on New Home for Wounded War Hero

It was a beautiful day yesterday at The Bridges at Preston Crossings! With the sun shining brightly, we proudly broke ground on a new home for a deserving wounded war hero and his family. Army Specialist Hugo L. Gonzalez, his wife, Any, and three young daughters were joined by Bluegreen Communities CEO, Dan Koscher, Texas Home Improvement and Prestige Designer Homes representatives, as well as other business donors who are helping to provide the mortgage-free custom built home and land through Operation FINALLY HOME.

The groundbreaking ceremony was followed by celebrations and a “stock the lake” party in preparation for the upcoming Patriot Bass Tournament to be held April 2nd at The Bridges. Be sure to join us for this day of family fun! Prizes will be awarded to the top fishermen and children. All of the proceeds from this event will benefit Operation FINALLY HOME.
